El proyecto para la nueva biblioteca, aulas, cafetería y comedor de la Fundación Académica Diplomática del Perú, ubicada en San Isidro, Lima, busca una intervención arquitectónica que equilibre sobriedad y expresividad. El diseño ofrece espacios serenos, confortables y abiertos para estudiantes y funcionarios, fomentando el aprendizaje, la interacción y la inclusión, alejándose del concepto tradicional de ‘templos del saber’ cerrados y exclusivos. La integración del edificio con el entorno paisajístico es fundamental, logrando una continuidad entre lo natural y lo construido.
Desde un enfoque urbano, el edificio se inserta armoniosamente en el conjunto existente, con una presencia distintiva pero respetuosa. La volumetría, definida por quiebres angulares, permite una relación dinámica entre el interior y exterior, promoviendo transiciones fluidas y una experiencia espacial continua. La fachada, compuesta por lamas blancas, tamiza la luz natural y refuerza la conexión entre la naturaleza y la arquitectura, creando una atmósfera luminosa y ligera.
El diseño prioriza la flexibilidad y adaptabilidad, minimizando la interferencia de elementos estructurales y maximizando la apertura de los espacios. La protección solar es gestionada mediante celosías y parasoles motorizados, que filtran la luz natural, evitando el sobrecalentamiento y creando ambientes agradables. La iluminación interior y exterior se ha diseñado para integrarse de manera natural con el entorno, creando una atmósfera acogedora y destacando las características del edificio.
El interior del edificio está organizado de manera abierta y flexible, con la biblioteca como elemento central. Los diferentes niveles permiten vistas variadas hacia los jardines, conectando visual y espacialmente el proyecto con el exterior. Los espacios de lectura se diseñan como áreas accesibles, con opciones para trabajo colaborativo o individual. La cafetería-mirador, ubicada en el último nivel, ofrece una vista privilegiada del paisaje, proporcionando un espacio de encuentro y relajación.
Finalmente, el proyecto no solo satisface una necesidad funcional, sino que también promueve la interdisciplinaridad, el intercambio de ideas y la conexión con el entorno, creando un espacio que invita al aprendizaje y la interacción social de manera abierta y armoniosa.
The project for the new library, classrooms, cafeteria, and dining room of the Diplomatic Academic Foundation of Peru, located in San Isidro, Lima, calls for an architectural intervention that strikes a balance between sobriety and expressiveness. The facade, composed of white louvers, filters natural light and reinforces the connection between nature and architecture, creating a luminous and light atmosphere.
The design prioritizes flexibility and adaptability, minimizing the interference of structural elements and maximizing the openness of the spaces. Solar protection is managed through the use of motorized louvers and sunshades, which filter natural light, preventing overheating and creating pleasant environments. The interior and exterior lighting has been designed to integrate naturally with the surroundings, creating a welcoming atmosphere and highlighting the building’s features.

The reading spaces are designed to be accessible, offering options for collaborative or individual work. The café-viewpoint, located on the top level, provides a privileged view of the landscape, serving as a space for meetings and relaxation.
